What is Asia In SA?
Asia In SA 2015 is a charity black-tie gala dinner to be held on 8th August 2015 as a grand celebration for the successes and connections of Asians in South Australia and South Australians in Asia.
Asia In SA is an initiative founded by Susan Lee, inspired by the recent appointment of the 35th Governor of South Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le, who fled Vietnam in 1977 and arrived in Australia by boat as a refugee. His remarkable life story and achievements in South Australia will be a key highlight of this charity event.
Proceeds will be donated to the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), "South Australia’s first independent, flagship health and medical research institute", and Opportunity International Australia, an organisation "providing small business loans, savings, insurance and training to more than five million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world".
